This delighful yarn is 60% New Zealand wool and 40% US domestic wool, barely processed and spun right here in the USA. It is a single ply and slightly thick and thin. There is still some natural lanolin in this wool, so it smells softly of sheep. You will also occasionally find a tiny bit of vegetable matter in it, letting you know that this yarn was not harshly cleaned by carbonizing. The yarn is soft and thick, and will make quick work of knitting or crocheting soakers, mittens, or a hat. There are 120 yards per 100 gram skein, with a gauge of 3-4 stitches per inch on #9-11 needles. Hand wash and dry flat, or felt it up!
